Recital Proposal

The Recital Proposal should be submitted to your recital committee members by the end of Week 3 of Fall Term (or two terms before your recital is to take place). The Recital Proposal should contain your repertoire in program order, including the following:

  1. Song titles
  2. Composer/Arranger
  3. Key of each song
  4. Tempo and feel of each song
  5. Duration of each song
  6. Road map (i.e. order of solos, arrangement plans, etc.)
  7. Performance goals and/or reason for inclusion in program
    • This may vary piece to piece… You may want to include a song for personal reasons, or you may want to include a song to demonstrate a technique you’ve been working on while in school (e.g. up-tempo playing, in & out playing, etc.)
  8. Lead sheets and/or scores for each song

Your recital proposal should also list the following:

  1. Ensemble personnel
  2. Rehearsal dates
  3. Pre-recital hearing date/time
  4. Recital date/time

If there are any compositions/arrangements still to be completed, you must also include a timeline detailing your plans for completion (i.e. when you will have the piece composed/arranged, and when parts will be sent to the musicians).
