The following instructions must be followed to get your recital reserved and staffed at the School of Music & Dance.
NOTE: Unless an exception is made, all Jazz Studies recitals will take place in Room 190.
- Meet with the Director of Jazz Studies to select a recital date (this should be done at least two terms before the recital).
- Determine the other faculty members of your recital committee, and confirm the recital date with them via email (the committee must consist of three faculty members from the Jazz Studies area).
- Undergrad students: Email the Undergraduate Office to initiate the Recital Scheduling DocHub form. Graduate students: Email the Graduate Office to initiate the Recital Scheduling DocHub form.
- Once you receive the DocHub email, complete the digital recital scheduling form.

Follow the instructions in the confirmation email to complete the Information & Arrangements form. Here are instructions for the Information & Arrangements form:
- Under “Faculty Advisor,” list the Director of Jazz Studies.
- Under “Stage Plan,” do not select lectern only or lectern & mic – just request the number of music stands and chairs you need.
- Under “Grand Piano & Bench,”
- If you aren’t using piano, select “none”
- If you are using a piano, but don’t have a preferred instrument, select “no preference”
- If you have a preferred piano, select “preferred piano” and then type in the name of your preferred piano
- Assuming you are not using harpsichord or organ, select “None” under Harpsichord/Organ
- Select, “Announce Microphone,” but not “Conductors Podium” or “Sound Shell”
- If you are featuring a big band on your recital, type in the number of trombonists under “Platforms 8″” and the number of trumpeters under “Platforms 16″.” Otherwise, leave those spaces blank.
